Waratah Coal is an Australian-based coal exploration and infrastructure development company developing coal and infrastructure assets within the regional coal basins of Queensland.

Waratah Coal’s principle focus is the development of their Galilee Basin tenements.

Waratah Coal is the largest tenement holder within the Galilee Coal Basin and is developing their world class coal assets known as the “Galilee Coal Projects”. Currently Waratah holds over 10,000 km² of tenements within the Galilee Basin including:

  • 15 Exploration Permits for Coal (EPC)
  • 1 Mineral Development License (MDL)
  • 2 Mining Lease applications (ML)

Waratah has proven up JORC Coal Resources of 7.1 Bt and JORC Coal Reserves of 1.1 Bt. The quality of these coal resources and reserves is superior to most international thermal coals, with an energy rank of 6350 kcal/kg (adb) or 5500 kcal/kg (NAR).
